Mayor launches Hours 4 Ours at AboutMyArea/SK8
|

Yesterday The Mayor of Stockport Councillor June Somekh gave
the campaign her support
"I am pleased to give my support for the AboutMyArea/SK8
Hours4ours campaign for the Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Gatley
and Heald Green Area.
The launch of this community improvement initiative encourages
people through the SK8 website to suggest community projects
for which other people and businesses can pledge hours of
voluntary help or materials to support them. The possibilities
are endless. I feel Hours4ours is an exciting initiative;
it is an innovative way of bringing local community projects
and vounteers together via the internet. I wish the Hours
4 Ours campaign every success."

Already Margaret Burns has proposed a Litter Pick morning
for November 10th on behalf of the Heald Green Ratepayers'
Association. Pledge your support for this project on the Hours
4 Ours link below.
This is just the start and your editor would like people
to come forward and make proposals for projects and likewise
for others to pledge an hour or two of their time to these.Once
we know what needs fixing we will be looking for local businesses
to help out with donations of materials or staff time to really
make a difference in the Cheadle SK8 area. You can vote here
for the project that you would like most to win a day's free
labour from our team at Head Office.
‘Hours 4 Ours' will engage local people in re-kindling
local community sprit, improving the local area, and hopefully
having some fun along the way.
